Baby Be Blessed

These are the most adorable dolls I have ever seen and the fact that you can customize any scripture to be placed on the dolls belly is such a treasure! If you are interested head over to Bring the Rain by Angie Smith"www.audreycaroline.blogspost.com" to put your name into the contest. She is giving away 3 at midnight tonight!!
I would love to have one for Mia and Jacob and be able to tuck them in every night and nap with God's scripture right next to them!

Happy New Years!!

Nana & Papa hosted a little New Years Eve party at their house. The kids had so much fun trying on different hats and learning to blow their horns! We had so much fun, although John did spend the evening at the animal hospital with Madison who had ingested uncooked dough....not fun...and either was the vet bill :)

Our Christmas Adventures...

I can't believe 2008 is coming to an end in no less than 3 more days. How is that even possible?? We have been so busy this month and have had so much fun!! Mia & Jacob are just beginning to grasp the magic this season brings, we played with our nativity so much and celebrated Jesus' birth by baking a cake together and then lighting up the candles Christmas morning. The excitement of seeing a Christmas tree in the family room, lights up and down the street, late evening outings filled with adventure (which meant late bedtimes) and so many crafts. It was truly magical this year for John and I to watch as they danced and squealed with laughter as we celebrated Christmas together.

Here are a glimpse of the activities we packed into 1 month!!

Huntington Beach Live Nativity
Every year Huntington Beach hosts a live nativity to walk through. We waited in line, had some hot cocoa and walked through each scene, it was so special for the kids to actually see the story we were reading at home come to life!! Although Mia interrupted many times to yell...."baaaaa, baaaaa" "heeehaaaa, heeehaaaa" because that is what a sheep and donkey say... right?? "Mary even thought it was funny" special memories....

Carlsbad Beach ~ Del Mar Holiday Light Show
Last weekend we headed down to San Diego, stopped in Carlsbad for some wonderful mexican food on the beach and then headed down Del Mar to see the lights. The Del Mar race track is turned into a holiday spectacular drive thru show with more than 400 animations. The kids loved it and they even served us starbucks Espresso Truffles through our window!!!

snow,snow,snow....well almost....

A couple days after Christmas we decided to head out to Palm Springs and take the tram up the mountain so we could play in the 3 feet of snow that had just dropped. We bundled up headed out to the desert and then found out that even though we already had our tickets it was a 3hr wait for the tram!! Sheeesh I guess us Southern Californians all get excited when we get a little snow!! So we made our way down to downtown Palm Springs took a horse carriage ride with Nana and Papa, had some great Mexican food and then headed back home! Its a great thing Mia and Jacob are to young to realize that we didnt get to see the snow...in a couple years that might be a whole different story :)

Christmas Day 2008

Fortunatly for Santa's helpers (mommy & daddy) Mia and Jacob slept in until 8:00am...which was great because we were putting this train table together until 1:00am Christmas Morning. The kids were ecstatic when they saw what Santa left for them, so excited that I was able to prepare a breakfast casserole for the entire family since they had no interest in their stockings or other gifts for awhile!! We love this train table!! Infact I think Daddy may even be having more fun with it now then they are :)

Holiday Open House

I am so behind on my blog! With working full-time (yay John starts back to work on the 29th!!), making lots of crafts with Mia & Jacob, hosting a toddler filled gingerbread house party and preparing for CHRISTmas, my blog was put on the back burner. It shouldnt frustrate me, but it does because I use my blog as my own personal baby album with new milestones, hilarious twin antics, and all our adventures and pictures I don't want to forget :) This month alone we have been so busy with Disneyland, a live nativity, decorating the christmas tree..or should I say the daily undecorating of the Christmas tree, making gifts for our loved ones and celebrating with friends at holiday parties (Pictures coming soon)!! Did you know that your blog can be printed into a book? I'm looking forward to printing out Mia and Jacob's first year and saving all our fun adventures for them to treasure one day!!

My favorite time of year is BooMama's holiday tour of homes!!

We welcome you to The Pascua holiday home........

Mia & Jacob had so much fun creating these foam stockings and snowman and decorating them with tons of glittery foam stickers, I then punched holes in them and we hung them up in the dining room as garland, they love pointing to them at every meal and telling all our friends what they made. I know I will treasure pulling out this garland every year!!

This little snowman brings a smile to my face every morning next to the stove, you see I can remember where I got just about anything and any memory attached to it (I guess I'm sentimental that way) This little guy I picked up in Colorado 5 Christmas' ago. John and I were visiting his brother for the first time together and I found it at a cute little country shop, we had no idea his brother would pass away so unexpectedly 3 short months later, 2 months prior to our wedding. So this little guy has a special place in my heart!

we love finding little "noel" trinkets for our home...especially since its Mia's middle name :)

These sparkly reindeer sit on our armoire in the family room

I love changing out all our pictures to holidays of the past and present...
Photobucket
and of course my "first" baby...Madison has her very own stocking in her very own little corner (which I believe she prefers that way) If you look closely at the Christmas Tree picture you will see Maddie lounging on the couch :)

Since we have been married we have always decorated our tree in red and gold...not because we love the colors....(although we do!!) but because it represents to us the blood of Christ and the Gold of his rich majesty..just our little tradition!!

This little sequined boot is as old as me, I have a few of these handmade ornaments from my mom and I hope Mia will someday treasure them as much as I do.

This past weekend we created 15 of these exclusive mia & jacob wreaths for family and friends! The red hand is mia's and the green is jacobs, everyone loved them and we had so much fun creating them! however i believe our scissors are now dull :)

Mia & Jacob have had so much fun playing with their nativity, its been a great tool for teaching too!
