Weekend of Fun!!!

This past weekend was packed with so much fun!!! A refreshing Beth Moore Conference in San Diego Friday and Saturday....and some shopping too!! I came home to a clean house and two beautiful napping babies on Saturday afternoon and then we headed over to Irvine Spectrum for some sushi and playing in the water fountains. On Sunday we went to church and spent the eary afternoon playing at the pool and had dinner at the town center with Todd and Andren.

During lunch at the pool Jacob had his first Caprisun juice box and figured out that if he squeezed juice would shoot up through the straw, this caused squeals of laughter over and over for the longest time, we loved every second of it and so did Mia!!

Mommy's Prayer

Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day,
With little time to stop and pray,
For life's been anything but calm
Since You called me to be a mom--
Running errands, matching socks,
Building dreams with wooden blocks,
Cooking, cleaning, finding shoes
And other stuff that children lose,
Fitting lids on bottled bugs,
Wiping tears and giving hugs,
A stack of last week's mail to read--
So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord,
Just at the sink or ironing board,
To ask the blessings of Your grace,
I see them, in Mia and Jacob's face,
That you have blessed me all the while --
As I stoop to kiss those smiles!!

Dinner at The Pascua's

So lately dinner time at The Pascua's has not been very fun. As most of you know Jacob has been in Occupational Therapy for "feeding" since November. We started to notice that he was having difficulty moving past pureed baby food and consistently would gag or throw up anything that was more than pureed. Since then we have been able to move up to Stage 3 baby food that has texture in it but its still a battle at every meal. So far they have started to diagnose him with a tactile sensory disorder related to oral aversion. Wow that sounds like a long diagnosis but all it really means is that he is extra sensitive to different kind of touches, mushy or squishy foods like pasta, steamed vegetables and meats. All of these foods which contain important proteins and important carbohydrates. He should even be eating more than the average 14mth old since he was a preemie and is way under the growth chart. We just transferred to a new an incredible OT office so were praying and walking by faith that God will heal Jacob and we can start getting some fat on his little frame. Please pray with us that we will start to see amazing progress soon!

So this is what a typical meal looks like at our house everyday :)

Miss Mia relishing in every second of her meal, she LOVES to eat!!

....and Jacob, this will usually stay on his tray, he will rarely touch it and then after 15-20 min we end up eating baby food

Sweet Sleeper

Mia and Jacob go down a little early for their morning naps on Sunday morning so they are well rested to play in Sunday School. We dress them for church early so we just have to scoop them up and put them in the car on our way out....this is how we found Mia sound asleep last Sunday!!
