Christmas Cookie Decorating with friends!

On Saturday we headed over to The Porters for some food, sugar and fellowship...did I mention the sugar?? After an afternoon of pure sugar enjoyment the kids proceeded to bounce off the walls until well after midnight!! It was well worth it though!

Here is one of many beautiful trays that were beautifully crafted by our toddlers and then eaten!

...and the sugar kicks in...pillow fight!!

On Friday evening we ventured out into the FREEZING weather (yes in southern california anything below 50 is freezing to us natives). We boarded The Irvine Train and headed deep into the woods through the magical lights, across the lake and into Santa's Village!!

DECEMBER 2

Day 2 of our December journaling :)

We had a great day today, I'm so thankful to be working from home again and being able to spend more quality time with my 'twinks'!! This morning we headed off to our women's bible study and Mia and Jacob got to spend time with their favorite Mrs. Nancy and all their friends. Mia told me she learned about Jesus and they colored his picture, she loves telling me about Jesus!

We headed home afterwards to have some lunch, do some work while they played and then refused a nap (which then meant an early bedtime..yipppee) Late afternoon we got out some Christmas lights and did the front porch and the garden for Daddy!! Were hoping this weekend to get our big lights up since we seem to be the only house on the block without them right now :)

While dinner was cooking and laundry was washing (the story of my life..hehehe) we did a fun reindeer craft. I always try to include some handprint crafts every year and almost every season, its so bittersweet seeing their hands getting bigger and bigger!! The kids loved making the reindeer and had fun gluing everything together and then they told me...he needed a RED nose...they are so smart!!

Day 1...the countdown is on

A sweet friend of mine posted a great idea on how to keep track of these busy days of December with little ones. She is keeping a scrapbook of every day of December to later reflect what we did that year when they were 2 or 3 or 4. I thought it was an awesome idea but since I didnt make it out to gather my scrapbooking supplies today I decided that I have everything I need right here on our blog :)
I wish I would have done this with Mia and Jacob's first and second Christmas because I know looking back at our calendars we were out enjoying so many festivities and starting fun traditions!

I have to say though its only day 1 of December and so far this is our FAVORITE Christmas with them at this age. We are laughing and treasuring every little moment of teaching them about Christ's Birth and even explaining to them the mystery and wonder of Santa Claus *we have to go and say Hi to him everytime were at Target (which is attached to the mall), we CAN'T sit on his lap but we definitely want to stand at the fence and wave Hi and shout to him from a distance...did I mention we LOVE this age!!*

December 1, 2009

This is the first year we purchased an artificial tree, yes were sad about missing the smell (but our amazing fresh tree fragrance oil is being shipped to us) but what I wont miss is every year no matter how hard we try our tree seems to die right before or the day after Christmas..and we would love to keep it up until after New Years! So far the kids and us are loving it and I love that the lights are already attached...awesome!! and no watering..even better!!

We enjoyed a pizza dinner and then sipped hot cocoa, lit the fire place, danced to Christmas carols and decorated the tree!

Mia and Jacob wanted to be in charge of candy canes so the whole bottom is lined with candy canes..and 2hrs later they were all smashed on the floor and partially eaten...ha!

Did I mention that they already found it hilarious this morning to throw the ornaments on the kitchen floor and watch them break? and I thought we got through last year perfectly...little did I know it would be this year...still loving every minute!!

Mia is such a big helper and loves to help mommy do the ribbon so that explains the bottom half of our crooked ribbon :) The type A in me wants to fix it but knowing that my daughter and I did it together is just precious and I love it! seriously I'm not thinking about fixing it..hahaha :)

What a fun special evening to kick off December...

September Catch Up...

The last two months have passed us by before we could even blink! Where did it go?
Every single day Mia and Jacob are learning something new and growing up literally right in front of us, if we could find the 'stop' button we would both be sitting on it, but there isnt one so were holding these precious moments close to our hearts and praising God for our miracles!!

Here is what we've been up to the last 2 months!

Mia and Jacob started preschool 2 mornings a week for a few hours. They adore Mrs. Jodie and Mia likes to talk about her friends. I love sneaking in to watch them play and interact a few minutes before I pick them up.

After their first day of school we celebrated with a night at Disneyland with Auntie Traci, Iain, Neil and Hailey!! 2 sets of twins 2 years and under...fun times!!

By the time our 2nd day of school rolled around we were excited to go again....I still can't believe they are old enough for preschool!

That same week we headed out to our favorite little zoo with great friends!!

We celebrated Iain's 5th Birthday Party!! Seems like yesterday John and I were at the hospital waiting to hold him!!

The next evening John and I headed out on an awesome date of sushi and a Casting Crowns Concert!!
(gotta love mobile picture taking)

A fun birthday party at Jumpin Jammin! Happy 5th Birthday Pravir!!

A fun dinner playdate with Jen and Sarah!!

...so that catches us up for September..stay tuned for October fun tomorrow!
