Mama Mia's Pizza...

Mia had so much fun making homemade pizza with daddy tonight! She loves to be in the kitchen and loves to help cook and then loves to eat her delicious meal :) Jacob loves to be in the kitchen with us but is not so much about the cooking or touching food in general...we'll just leave that alone...ha!

a beautiful weekend!

We had such a great weekend, one with very few plans and lots of family time! I simply can't believe that our babies are inching closer to 3 and farther away from 2, it boggles my mind and leaves an ache in my heart. They are rapidly growing in their vocabulary, likes, dislikes and their will of what and where they want to go its amazing to watch and at times exhausting to reel in that precious little spirit of free will!! :)
We spent Saturday morning making breakfast and then headed out for haircuts for the kids, that was an experience that called for a long afternoon nap all by itself but we marched on and conquered Trader Joes and then home to get ready for Amaya's 2nd Birthday.

I'm not complaining though, John and I got to catch up with some friends and eat a little before they woke up and wanted to swing on the swings the whole party :)

Labor Day Weekend 2009

We kicked off our weekend meeting up with some great out of town friends at the Hyatt in HB. It is so beautiful there and was seriously perfect weather!! We enjoyed some pizza, a fire, a live band and a little dancing!!
When we told Mia we were going to meet mommys friend and play with her little girl "Zoe" Mia immediately wanted to know if Elmo was going to be there too!!! So cute!!

Saturday morning we had a beach picnic with Lolo and Lola and Nana and Papa, the kids LOVED having both sets of grandparents together to play!

Fall Decorating...

Fall is my favorite season, I LOVE decorating for fall infact John and I were talking about it over dinner and I think we decided that my love for decorating for fall is probably because I get to enjoy it, we love lighting up the fireplace in the evening, roasting hearty meals in the crockpot and relaxing. While at Christmas time the house is completely decorated but were too busy with all the family preparations, parties and planning that we never really get to sit back and enjoy it like we do fall! So I guess thats our conclusion and a part of why I love fall so much!!

Here are a few of the preparations we got started on today, the kids had SO much fun painting their pumpkins for our mantle decoration. This week I'll start on our table centerpieces and get to the nursery to start planting some fall mums!!

Sunday...

We love Sundays with our family at Kingsfield. We love our 10am service and the leisurely time we take getting ready in the morning with the kids, enjoying our coffee while the kids enjoy their juice, cereal with cartoons :)



After church we enjoy having lunch with friends and spending the early afternoon playing and then we head home for our favorite Sunday tradition....long naps! I'm already dreading the day the kids wont want to sleep for 2-3 hours in the afternoon...guess its time for us to have another one or two, then I wont feel guilty for curling up for a Sunday afternoon nap..ha!

Cupcake Days

Mia and Jacob love cupcakes, they love to pick their own cupcake out with no help from Mommy I might add. My little ones have become so independent and they know exactly what they want...a cupcake!

Sonic

Sonic...oh where do I start??
We have friends that live in the midwest and they love to share their passion for Sonic...or maybe rub it in because we didnt have one in Southern California but as soon as one opened in Mission Viejo we were SO there!!
The kids loved it and I've never had anything taste as refreshing and spectacular as the strawberry limeade..simply the best!!
Its been several weeks (not since I've been there) but since I came across these pics on my blackberry, John and I were laughing and reminiscing about our first Sonic experience with Mia our comedian!
While waiting for our food at this super fun roller derby drive-in we let Mia out of her seat while we waited for our food to arrive and be placed on our window, yes I was excited about that! John and I were talking while Mia played quietly in the backseat and Jacob snoozed in his seat, then Mia popped up and said "Oh!! here I am" with a snow beanie on her head twirling around. Where she found this in July in the backseat I'll never know but it made for the most memorable and fun visit ever!!

lets not forget the last time we were there our "Michelle Kwan" roller skater did a total 360 and ended up under our car with our food all over the place, seriously it wouldnt be funny except she told us she was Michelle Kwan and could skate like her right before this incident! This place is comedy..for us anyways :)

One of our favorite Sunday afternoon activities that is quickly becoming a tradition is the horse carousel at The Irvine Spectrum. M&J love having lunch with friends and then heading over to the carousel for a quick ride before long sunday afternoon naps! Seriously I'm talking 3 h.o.u.r Sunday afternoon nap heaven!!
