18 months!!

Mia Noel and Jacob Nolan are 18 months old. The fastest 18 months of my entire life. The best 18 months of my life and the most rewarding time of our life. With every stage of their life my hold on them gets a little tighter.... because I have become aware of how quickly time is passing me by. Every waking, learning, giggling moment is precious and can't be replaced or captured again. My mind wants to take a picture of every new skill learned, every new emotion, maneuver and smile. I want to audibly record every new word that they are learning minute by minute, every conversation that they have with each other, and every kiss that comes my way, because I know one day that I will be able to retain a few precious memories but some will grow distant and foggy. I will be able to look back and remember them running and tumbling, playing hide and seek, the way Mia says "God" and the sweet way Jacob says "good girl" but I'll forget somethings and that is reality.
So at 18 months there is a little lump in my throat as I watch how quickly my babies are growing up and maturing into full toddlerhood, but there is also pure joy and honor as I watch them blossom into their own beautiful personalities. and then a little fear as John and I come to a full understanding that they are maturing right before us, learning by watching and hearing. We are beyond honored and blessed that God has given us HIS two precious babies to be stewards of here on earth, to grow them in His word, His truth and for His glory. To pour into them a passion for their Heavenly Daddy so that His purpose could be fulfilled in their life. The responsibility is humbling and daunting but worth every second as we pour all He has given us into them, we pray that their cup overflows with His goodness all the days of their life.

So what are Mia and Jacob up to these days.....
*we are climbing up everything!
* we dance on demand, we get dizzy after twirling and then we fall down to then get up and do it again!
* Praise God Jacob is actually eating!!
*Jacob loves to be outside, at 8:00 in the morning he is banging on the back door.
*Mia loves to read, she points out so many things in all her books and calls them by name, she will bring a book to anyone that will let 'her' read to them!
*They both point out Jesus in their bedtime bible
*We are fascinated with the toilet...maybe potty training is right around the corner!
*When I say shoes they both sit down and lift up their feet!
*Mia climbs up her high chair when she is hungry....which is all day!!
*Jacob is pointing at what he wants now...drink,milk,snack(fishies),outside,car,byebye
*Jacob and Mia point out Daddy in all the pictures when he is at work.
*They run into nana and papas house and wave byebye at mommy
*They take the cabinet locks off all the cabinets and bring them to mommy and daddy
*Jacob loves to color with crayons and his BIG coloring book.
*Mia gave her first kiss to a boy...daddy was not pleased :)
*Mia says....Mama,Dada,Papa,Nana,car,doggie,cup,bath,horse,pig,kittykat,jacob,duckie,ball,nanas(bananas),milk,yes,pool,water,book,turtle,good girl,nose.
*Jacob says...dada,papa,nana,mama,doggie,goodgirl (sounds like gogr),yes, no is "da", ball, Mia is "Meee"

buttons & kisses

These days The Pascua home is filled with such fun times. Recently we are fixated on our belly buttons and Mia loves giving kisses!! There is no feeling in the world that can compare to the first time your baby gives 'you' a kiss. After the millions and millions of kisses we have covered her in the last 18 months she has decided she wants to return the favor!! Jacob on the other hand isnt too fond of giving out kisses, my little shy man turns his face to the side and giggles when he see's mommy coming and now Mia!!!

Jacob has just learned where his belly button is and loves to point it out and Mia's too!! He loves praise and gets a big round of clapping and cheering when he does it, so he is eager to show us all the time :)

The Pascua's BUSY weekend

What a weekend!!! We were hopping and bopping all over the place and the kids did an awesome job of going with the flow. It was packed with fun, friends and beach!!

Friday- Nana and Papa came to pick up the kids and take them down to Laguna Beach for the afternoon so that I could do a couple hours of work from home, then we headed down to their house in the evening for some yummy BBQ!

Saturday- Daddy is home with the babies while I get to go to Jen's Bridal "Bath" (instead of shower) We have been great friends for so long and we are beyond excited to watch them become husband and wife in October!!

After the shower I scooted on home and we all jumped in the car and headed to the beach, we picked up some KFC to eat dinner and watch the sunset. We also found out from Mia's trip to the beach with Nana and Papa that she LOVES the big waves, that girl has no fear in her at all :) (scary for mommy and daddy)

Sunday- we headed off to church early in the morning and mommy got to hang out with the kids in the toddler room the whole service! All of a sudden were having some major separation anxiety issues and chorus screaming and tears start the second mommy is out of sight. I think it may be because I was home for 7 weeks with them full-time and am now back to work part-time. Hopefully this passes soon so I can enjoy the message and enjy the worship!!
After church we went straight to meet Johns parents for lunch with the kids. John and I have been here twice for sushi and we love it!! The kids did great and had chicken!! (no sushi for them yet, although Mia was grabbing for some!!)

After lunch we headed home with two very tired babies, the day was coming to close for them but mommy still had a fun night ahead....I ran upstairs to change and then headed down to Laguna Beach to meet my mom and dad! They were able to get me an extra ticket for Laguna Beach's Pageant of the Masters, Festival of Art!! You can watch art come to life — literally, through the “living pictures” presented at this under-the-stars outdoor show!! First we met and ate at Javiers Cantina, had the best cadillac margaritas (YUM!!) and carne asada.
It was such a fun night, Thanks Mom and Dad!!

Anniversary Celebration

Sunday, July 27th 2008
John and I were finally able to get a whole day 'date' together to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. We dropped the kids off at Nana and Papa's and headed to the beach. We spent the morning walking up and down Main St in Seal Beach (much like we used to do in our newleywed days!!) and then we headed home to change and get ready for our afternoon at the O.C. Fair and then a concert of SEAL!! We had so much fun together and really cherish our special dates!!
