Swimming with Iain

It was hot today so we decided to spend the morning with Auntie Tracie and Iain at the pool. Mia and Jacob can finally use their pool floaties and had so much fun with Iain pushing them around!

Playtime with Daddy

Well we are quickly approaching our 7 month birthday and we are having so much fun!!!
When Daddy gets home from work Mia and Jacob have already had their baths and are playing in their PJ's. This is a typical evening with Daddy....lots of laughing....well one of us that loves to laugh :) :)

On Friday, July 24th Jacob sat by himself for the first time!!!!!!!......and then we did it all weekend!

A day at the Park

We have a new park down the street from us that Jacob and Mia love to visit. We have just discovered that we love to swing!!

Toast!!

Since were teething Mommy gave us some special toast to chew on!!!

6 Months Old!

In August Jacob and Mia turned 6 months old!! John and I have no idea where the time has gone. In one aspect were so excited to watch them grow and be apart of watching them discover absolutely everything for the first time. There really is no greater blessing!! On the other hand its bittersweet that they just grow up too fast!! Now we know what our parents mean when they say we grew into adults in the blink of an eye. So John & I are cherishing every single moment, especially those nights that they sleep all the way through!!
At their 6 month appointment Jacob weighed in at 14lb 6oz and 24inches long....he has more than quadrupled his birthweight of 3lb 11oz. Jacob was getting up on all fours across the exam table and shredding the paper...our Pediatrician had one piece of advice for us...."get those gates up fast!!!"
Sweet Mia weighed in at 14lb 3oz and is 24 1/2 inches long....a whole 1/2" longer than her brother! Mia wasnt too happy about her immunizations or just the whole idea of being at the doctors office so she proceeded to pee all over the table :)

San Diego

In August we took our first family trip to San Diego. We stayed at the Sheraton Marina and Spa and had a great view of the ocean. We went to Seaport Village and Horton Plaza and then early the next morning we took Jacob and Mia to Seaworld for the first time! They LOVED it!! We watched the dolphin show, saw sea otters, sea lions, penguins, sharks, starfish and of course Shamu!

A new way to eat!

In July Mia and Jacob tried out their feeding teethers. We can put anything inside and they can suck and suck and suck their little hearts out. It feels great on their gums since they are teething and they love the taste of new fruits and vegetables.

Our Nursery!!

Here is their updated nursery, since we moved the kids have a much bigger room with a lot of room to move around.....even with two cribs!!

Beach Fun!!

We went to the beach for the first time on July 29th!! Laguna Beach was busy on a hot Sunday afternoon. The kids loved to feel the sand between their toes and watched the waves crash on the surf. We truly have water babies!!

Orange County Fair

On July 24th we went to the Orange County Fair with Grandpa and Grandma. Grandpa bought us surfboards for our bathroom with our names on them and Grandma bought Mia an umbrella to protect her light skin from the sun!
We saw goats, chickens, piglets and lambs!!
Jacob even got his toes nibbled on by a goat!

First Foods!!!

In July we were given the green light to start solid foods!!! Jacob and Mia love their new world of vegetables and fruits!! Our favorites so far are Applesauce and Carrots!!!
