Saturday, June 14th, 2008 Benson/Bush Family Reunion
My mom is the youngest of 7 babies born to an amazing woman, my Grandmother Stella Marie Bush. She was an amazing Godly woman, a pioneer of sorts...if you consider that she raised her self as a child (her mother died shortly after giving birth to her) going on to being married and having 5 kids and then having your husband suddenly pass away at the dinner table, marrying again and having 2 more babies and then being left alone yet again to finish the raising of her 7 children. She moved her entire family from Illinois to California in 1963. She was blessed to see all 7 of her children marry and go on to give her 7 granddaughters and 7 grandsons and we are currently on 19 great grandchildren (just for fun thats 12 girls and 7 boys!) Some of her favorite things were being with her family in her very small house, at every family gathering it seemed to be busting at the seams with kids crawling everywhere... all over her property, chasing rabbits, picking rasberries or climbing on old trucks. She loved the Lord, her bible was always out ready for reading,
Sunday morning church was not an option and yes we walked... and of course the great lunches after church. Her legacy continues and we still enjoy getting together to talk about old times and new adventures!
