At first it was hard to get John to leave the house when the babies were little, he worried about them relentlessly and really treasured every moment with them since he was putting in such long hours at the office during the week, but now he looks forward to our time together and even asks...do you think we could just leave them on the steps of Nana and Papa's house until they get home!! Ha!!!
Is it because they are full blown toddlers now with an unmeasured amount of energy...giggling that can go into crying and tantrums in 0.2 seconds?? or does he just adore his wife so much and impatiently pines away waiting until we can be on a date alone without kids in tow?? I would like to think its the latter so we'll just leave it at that...hahaha!
A few weeks ago we had an entire day from 11am to 11pm out in downtown Los Angeles! We explored The Getty Center, Shopped at The Grove, had a great steak dinner and then topped the night off with Chris Tomlin in Concert....it was fantastic!! We are already planning our next escape in June for a full 3 days....ahh we dream of the morning breakfast delivered to our room and a steaming cup of coffee without a mega block taking a dive into it...soon, soon~

Aren't dates awesome!! We do a date night exchange with some of our friends every friday night! We got a chance to get away for a night last month and it was dreamy!
Sounds like you had a wonderful day in LA!! I was in LA a few weeks ago with my mom and my Uncle Derek. The Grove was such a neat place...it was my first time there!!
A whole day date! Awesome! "Date nights" are hard to come by for me and my hubby, though they are a desire of my heart. Kara Noel mentioned the other day that "date nights are discipline, just like everything else."
And an overnighter date sounds wonderful! (Two nights away - bliss!)
