With every month that passes and Mia and Jacob graduate into another month of life. Time speeds up even faster, it seems like every day was just a minute ago and they were 3mths,6mths,9mths...and now were inching towards 20mths. From the second we hear giggling (ok sometimes screaming) at 7:00am I literally need to put on my running shoes, grab some caffeine and hit the floor running. These two are scrambing after something/anything as soon as they are out of their cribs and there is no slowing down...until their morning nap that is, but mommy is usually in the office by then and sipping on a latte for a couple hours chasing down non-compliant patients..and then its time to head back home, enjoy some fun playtime, prepare an afternoon snack, run errands, make dinner, bathtime and then bedtime by 7;30pm. So that is 12hours of running, caffeine, more running and more caffeine and by the time these two hit the hay it literally appears that 'hay' is covering every inch of the house thrown in with some applesauce, milk, juice and perfect brown handprints over every surface and wall (did I mention the twins love to garden in the dirt every second they get) :)
So where do I find my peace, my rejuvenation and my sanity? In the word of God, His word speaks rest to my soul, passion into my life and a new beginning for the morning, new promises, new adventures. I can meet with Him in the quiet of the night when the day is done, when the smiles and laugther of the day is fresh on my heart, their new words (sentances for Mia!) are ringing in my ears and I can flood His alter with praise, worship and thanksgiving for all that is around me. When I'm running low on patience, contentment and being a servant the first place I have to go is His word. I push past our library of books, my bible studies and open His word and start reading, I plead with the Holy Spirit to ignite my passion for His word, to give me a thirst that can't be quenched and He is faithful to do that everytime. Sometimes I dont even recognize this answered prayer until its been a few nights that I find myself racing to bed (past the computer, TV and work to be done) just to get into His word and I LOVE that feeling, I LOVE being hungry and thirsty for Him, a fulfillment that only in His word can I find..and that is where I find....He heard me, He flooded me with His Holy Spirit and ignited that passion again.
So there you go, we have had alot going on the last month, but mostly in the last couple weeks I have been pushing everything aside to meet with Him, and if your a mommy to one toddler let alone twin toddlers and you work even part-time, there is only one thing that can sustain you and fill you up....the sweet reassurance and promise of Gods word!
And while I'm rambling about this topic we exciting news today!!! Jacob is my sweet little man of few words.....very few words and today while Papa was asking Mia to say Jesus, Jacob turned around and in perfect articulation said JESUS!!! now Jacob only says dada..mmmmmm....and sometimes nana and thats it. So for him to say Jesus it is the sweetest sound I think any of us have ever heard!! He said it for me this afternoon and next time I will have the video camera ready!!
Here are some pictures from the last month of Mia & Jacob, we had such a fun summer of swimming, beach, parks, carnivals and ice cream!!
