Healthy Peanut!!

Jacob's Pediatrician called us this morning to tell us the good news!! All of Jacobs lab work (and there was a lot!!) came back absolutely perfect. Dr. Ball even commented that Jacobs iron level was even better than his which is baffling because we cant get anything down him but Dino Dinosaurs (I know all our mommies out there know these :) :) They are chicken nuggets!!
So Jacob is our sweet gorgeous peanut, that eats like a bird but is otherwise healthy!! Dr. Ball was so relieved that everything looks great and for now just accepts that Jacob takes after his mommy since he is the same weight and height that mommy was at his age.

Jacob is just as God created him to be, absolutely perfect!!

Aquarium of the Pacific

We always look so forward to summertime when Nana is off of work for 6 whole weeks and then Grandpa takes time off too so we can go do fun things!! This summer was a little different, 2 days after Nana started her summer vacation Grandpa got sick and had to have urgent knee surgery and then go on IV antibiotics for 6 weeks!! So that put a lot of things on hold but we have had lots of fun swimming adventures in Nana and Grandpas backyard!! However today Grandpa was ready to get out so we loaded everyone up and headed to the aquarium. We had so much fun and loved all the fishies and sharks! Thanks Grandpa and Nana for the fun time!!

Peanut

Jacob has been our little peanut since the morning he came into our world. At birth he weighed 3lb 11oz thus he was named our peanut. As most of you know we have struggled with feeding issues with Jacob for some time. We love our Pediatrician and until yesterday afternoon he has always been a little disappointed in Jacobs slow weight gain but satisfied that he was gaining and genetically speaking John and I just arent really big people. I took Jacob in yesterday to check on his cold and make sure that it didnt turn into an ear infection of course while I was there I asked the nurse to weigh him even though he wasnt scheduled for a weight check until his 18mth appt next month. Jacob is 18lbs 2oz...with his shirt on so lets just say 18lbs!! Dr. Ball comes in and says I was having a great day until I saw his weight for 17 months, turns out Jacobs weight has pretty much stayed the same for the last 3 to 4 months even though he is eating. So now Dr. Ball is no longer disappointed, he's pretty concerned now. Mia spent the night with Nana and Papa last night while I took Jacob to Mission Hospital this morning to have numerous blood tests done. The Pediatric nurses were amazing and able to get all his vials of blood done in one quick draw, although it made no difference to mommy because his tears are tears either way and that hurts. We should get the results back in a couple days but until then were praying that all is well and he just takes after his mommy. Nana got out my baby book and sure enough at 12 months I weighed 17lbs and at 24months I weighed 20lbs......so Jacob isnt too far off but like all us mommys know we have to make sure that were not missing anything.

Please keep Jacob in your prayers for healthy normal blood work, healing and a BIG appetite!!!

Happy Anniversary

Photobucket
Today is our 3 year wedding annivesary. John spent the day at home with us.. not because we wanted to celebrate at home in the middle of a very busy work week for him but because our sweet Jacob shared his cold with his Daddy...and Daddy got it 10fold. What I think should have been a day of pampering for me..(anyone with 2 toddlers knows this doesnt exist) was a day of chasing our sweet ones around the house (who by the way have totally given up their afternoon nap so thats 11:30am until 7:30pm that mommy spends chasing and cleaning up mess after mess) and letting my husband nap all day, making several small meals and running to the grocery store for sudafed, tylenol, nyquil...pretty much anything to ease every ache and pain. However it was also a day spent at home reflecting on this amazing journey in our marriage and our family.

*I loved him from the first time he called me to arrange a date and was so concerned about what kinds of food I liked and didnt like.
*I loved that in our courtship he always picked me up even if it was completely out of his way and made no sense.
*I love that he has always brought me flowers for no particular reason.
*I love that his walk with God comes first before our walk together.
*I love that he used my sunday school preschooles to propose to me.
*I love that in the midst of his brothers untimely death he sacrificed everything to care for me with a broken foot and surgical pin for 6 weeks.
*I love that from our beginning we talked, laughed and dreamed about the day our childs laughter would fill our home
*I love that the day we found out it would be very difficult for us to have a baby he sat with me and cried.
*I love that as we started our journey to having a family his excitement, hope and steadfast knowledge we would be successful kept me positive.
*I love that on July 17, 2006 he shouted with joy that we were pregnant!!
*I love that the day we discovered we were having twins and heard their heartbeats only excitement shined through him.
*I love that when we were first told it was 2 girls he was thrilled.
*I love that when complications in our pregnancy developed he was so sure that these two would be born perfect.
*I love that for 20 weeks while I was on bedrest he ran home everyday to bring me lunch, left me love notes with my breakfast and waited on my every request.
*I love that he gave me back rubs every night of my pregnancy.
*I love that when we heard Mia's first cry tears ran down his mask.
*I love that its his calm and patient touch that could calm the kids through our months of colic.
*I love that he will sit up all night with a sick baby.
*I love that he has always let me sleep every morning and gets up with them no matter how early it is.
*I love that he was the first one to figure out how to feed them both in the middle of the night so that I could sleep.
*I love that both of my babies call out for "Daddeeee" every morning.
*I love that every time he watches John & Kate +8 he wants 6 more kids!!
*I love that he already has names picked out and talks about what it will be like with one or two more!!
*I love that he calls me to ask how the kids are doing and then always asks how I'm doing.

I love that he is the desire of my heart... (Psalm 37:4)

Every boy needs a job....

God created man to work. Its a common theme that runs through any bible study that looks into mans heart, womens hearts were designed to nurture to comfort to give....but mans heart was made to work. So with that said you will find most little boys trying to find a job fit for them to do.....and Jacob found his!!
We didnt teach him this, we never handed him the leash but day in and day out he has been with us when we take Madison for a walk and one day while I was walking her he started throwing a fit until I handed him the leash, he grips that little leash like he is hanging on for his life, he takes his "job" very seriously and John and I just ripple with laughter even after he is fast asleep.
